Police are expected to release more information this morning about the disappearance of a Winnipeg father who went missing early last week in the Tyndall Park area.

Eduardo Balaquit, 59, was reported missing when he didn't return home from work on June 4. He last spoke with family that day and was last seen in the area of 380 Keewatin St. between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

His van was found near his workplace with the passenger window broken in. His cellphone was still in the vehicle and personal belongings were found on the ground outside.

The manager found Balaquit's van with the passenger window smashed, some of his belongings on the ground in front of it and his cellphone still inside.

Police to release new info in case of missing man Eduardo Balaquit . Eduardo Balaquit , 59, was reported missing early last week after his van was found with a window smashed in, his cellphone still inside and his personal belongings on the ground outside.

The homicide unit took over the investigation and a number of community and family-driven search efforts have taken place over the past nine days.

A police spokesperson said Wednesday there has been a development in the case but did not provide any other details. More information is expected to be released at 11 a.m. today during a police news conference.

Eduardo Balaquit is 5-foot-4, 155 pounds and has a medium build. He was wearing a black zip-up sweater, black pants and black shoes when he was last seen.
