Giants' Bumgarner on track for bullpen session next week The San Francisco Giants are inching closer to getting some much-needed help for their ailing starting rotation. Ace left-hander Madison Bumgarner is slated to throw a bullpen session next week, manager Bruce Bochy told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle. Bochy added that Bumgarner could be on his way to a minor-league rehab stint in a couple of weeks.Bumgarner fractured his pitching hand in a spring training game when he was hit by a line drive. The pins inserted into his hand after the injury were removed in April, and the club was optimistic about a return to the mound in late May.

While it’s unlikely that number will be added to during Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in July 2018, any San Francisco Giants fans who decide to head along can still expect to see plenty of big hits. Shortly after first pitch at AT&T Park during the San Francisco Giants's matchup with the Cincinnati Reds, a magnitude-3.5 earthquake hit the Bay Area.

As Reds first baseman Joey Votto took his first cuts with two outs in the top of the first inning, the NBC Sports Bay Area broadcast camera shook for about three seconds.

The quake hit at 7:18 p.m. and all trains in the BART system were stopped for 10 minutes for damage inspection.

Game play did not stop, but its safe to say people at the park felt it. Even Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr admitted it.
