HMD Global just announced a new Nokia-branded phone bound for China under the X-series moniker. Its most recognizable feature is a notched 5.8-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080) display with 19:9 aspect ratio with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective layer. Overall, the front of a Nokia X6 will be 95 percent screen with metal frames that come in blue, black, and silver variants.

The Nokia X6 is powered by a Snapdragon 636 SoC (system-on-chip), 4GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal storage. A higher-end model exists with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. But don’t worry, all models receive microSD card slots and back-mounted fingerprint sensors. USB-C is the only port on the X6, capable of delivering Quick Charge 3.0, or 50 percent charge in 30 minutes.

OnePlus 6 leak reveals more of its glass-centric design

OnePlus 6 leak reveals more of its glass-centric design OnePlus has been dribbling out details of its next phone for weeks on end, but one retailer may have revealed more than OnePlus was ready to show. WinFuture spotted an Amazon Germany listing (since removed) for the OnePlus 6 that included full images of the device -- no murky photos or teases here. True to expectations, the handset is dominated by its 6.3-inch display (complete with notch) at the front, and a glass back on at least the "mirror black" model. There's also a "midnight black" variant that appears to have a matte finish, although it's not certain this means a switch to aluminum.

HMD Global has finally taken the wraps off the long-rumored Nokia X 6 at a launch event in Beijing. The phone , which aims to offer mid-range specs in a premium-feeling body, will only be available in China initially, but it' s expected to launch in other markets in the future.

The camera setup is intriguing since there’s a front-facing 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture (face unlock included). On the back, there’s another f/2.0 16MP sensor, paired with a smaller 5-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.2 lens. All the cameras have the usual suite of phone AI trickery, like background blur and face recognition.

The Nokia X6’s makers are promising Android P sometime after launch, so the X6 will debut with the current stable Android 8.1 Oreo build.

The notched phone will debut on May 21st in China, starting at 1,299 yuan ($204) for the entry-level 4GB / 32GB model. The midrange 4GB / 64GB version will go for 1,449 yuan ($236), while the top-tier Nokia X6 (6GB / 64GB) will retail for 1,699 yuan ($266).

No availability has been announced outside of China.

The Essential Phone 2 has reportedly been canceled .
Essential has canceled plans to develop a second phone and is exploring selling off the entire company, according to Bloomberg. One thing that does sound certain is that Essential’s second phone — at least as it was originally planned — isn’t going to happen. Bloomberg says the development was canceled and that engineers are now working on a smart home product, which is supposed to be released next year. That may be the Echo competitor that Essential announced a year ago, but which we haven’t heard a word about since.
